Former SNOT/AMEN Bassist Joins LO-PRO
May 10, 2003Former SNOT/AMEN bassist Jon "Tumor" Fahnestock has joined LO-PRO, the new project featuring former members of ULTRASPANK and GODSMACK. LO-PRO recently completed tracking their upcoming debut release for STAIND frontman Aaron Lewis' new Geffen/Interscope imprint label, tentatively dubbed A.D.D. The as-yet-untitled album was recorded with producer Don Gilmore (LINKIN PARK, TRUST COMPANY) and a mixer for the effort is currently being decided upon. A tentative August/September release date is expected.
"I have known [LO-PRO guitarist] Neil Godfrey and [vocalist] Pete Murray from the old days in Santa Barbara," Fahnestock said in an official statement. "We used to play shows together when I was with SNOT. We also toured Ozzfest '98 together. The LO-PRO record is amazing and I look forward to playing with them on the STAIND tour later this summer."
Described by Lewis as a mix of electronica "with very heavy grindy guitar stuff", LO-PRO — who also feature in their ranks former GODSMACK drummer Tommy Stewart — actually started off as a duo who recorded all the instruments for the demo in their bedroom. Aaron added that the demo sounds better than 80 percent of the albums released today.
